Team BBQ - July 16th

It was a beautiful day for some field hockey and a BBQ! Before the Seacoast United field hockey girls head off to England in 2 days, they got to know each other a bit with a little practice at the Seacoast United Sports Park in Amesbury, MA. Not letting the afternoon heat beat us, Eli and I ran them through a couple passing and shooting drills to warm them up. After meeting most of these girls for the second time I really got to know some of their personalities after a few ice breaker games. Needless to say, I don't think Eli and I will ever be bored with this group of girls! To end the practice we reviewed some corner plays to prepare us for the matches down in England. The girls seemed very eager to continue playing with each other but unfortunately we had to end the practice to go eat some hot dogs and burgers (bummer!) The girls definitely earned themselves a couple hot dogs and hamburgers after that practice in the 85 degree heat. The BBQ was a perfect opportunity for all the parents and players to introduce themselves or ask any final questions before we head across the pond. With just about 48 hours till we depart from Boston the girls seemed excited and ready to go! Although we had some nervous faces (I think mostly about whether they were going to exceed the 50lb suitcase limit) the next ten days will be an experience these girls will never forget! Once we land in London and head over to Ardingly we will go right into field hockey play first thing in the morning. Cant have them sleep in too long, right?
Eli and I will be updating this everyday with our daily routine and adventures from across the pond so please continue to follow this crazy group of girls and their amazing field hockey experience!
